ETHICAL USE OF AI TOOLS

Much of our work is meant to be intended to be a case study to show capabilities, and public example of best practices. The production philosophy is built around a few non-negotiables:    

NO REPLACING ACTORS

o  In scripted work, we intend to use AI tools where computers are already used (VFX/Animation)

o  All performances on screen are recorded audio or motion capture performances captured in person, with REAL ACTORS but maybe without having to rent a massive studio or expensive mo-cap equipment to do it

Consent and Compensation

o   No use of someone’s likeness, voice, or performance without explicit permission (IP exceptions labeled “Spec”)

o   Fair pay for actors and key creatives, including when AI-assisted processes extend or transform work.

Human Authorship

o   Stories remain authored by humans: the adaptation, structure, dialogue, themes, and final cut are human-driven.

Transparency

o   Clear credits: who wrote, directed, performed, designed, animated, edited, and what tools were used.

o   “AI used” isn’t enough—how it was used matters.

Responsible Data Practices

o   Preference for licensed, commissioned, or artist-owned datasets and models where possible.

o   Avoidance of pipelines that rely on unauthorized scraping or rights ambiguity
